We’ve compared the Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris multiple times. But we’ve never really looked closely at the equipment list that each car has. So, we decided to go through the equipment list with a fine-tooth comb!
Here’s a quick reminder of each car’s variant equipment list:
In terms of safety equipment, the Yaris far outshines both Jazz V and Hybrid variants. With Blind-spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert along with a 360-degree reverse camera thrown in, the Yaris also boasts 7 airbags compared to the Jazz’s 6 airbags on both variants.
But if it’s about a fun drive and passenger convenience, the Jazz wins on both fronts. Not only is the Jazz V variant more powerful than the Yaris, the Hybrid adds on to the output numbers bringing it on par with larger 1.8-litre engines.
The Jazz V variant also comes with paddle shifters to enhance the performance focus of the car. Driver conveniences in the Jazz like cruise control also makes for a more relaxed highway cruising session.
Of course, just because the Yaris has less power than the two Jazz variants, it doesn't mean the car is any less fun. The Yaris offers a more communicative steering rack and more pliant suspensions that gives the car much more darty handling compared to the previous generations. Depending on your steering feel preferences, the Yaris might feel even give you better feel than the Jazz.
While both Jazz variants also has the added convenience and practicality of the Ultra seats, the Yaris, however comes with a more refined and comfortable cabin.
Not only does the Yaris offer you a quieter environment, the Toyota also has a more submersed experience in terms of the entertainment in the car.
Sure, Mirrorlink is not the most useful gadget in the Yaris but at least the car offers more ways to connect your devices to the car other than Bluetooth and it has a better sound system. The Honda Jazz V also has 6 speakers, but they don’t give the same sound quality as the Yaris.
We’ve previously already established which car is the safer option and that both Jazz variants and the Yaris too will offer a fun driving experience. But the Jazz's much bigger cabin still offers more practicality than the Yaris ever can.
But if all points are important factors to you and you still find yourself hard pressed to make a pick, take a look at the equipment lists and specifications laid out side by side, so which car is better suited for you?
There isn’t a time in memory that doesn’t involve staring at cars. After discovering the excitement of watching Schumacher vs Hakkinen, Formula 1 became a major part of life. The love for cars and F1 ultimately led to a job with CAR Magazine. The untimely death of the magazine meant a hiatus from cars at lifestyle women’s magazine Marie Claire before another opportunity came knocking again.
